GamingMalta CEO Ivan Filletti welcomed gaming industry veteran Jason Della Rocca to Malta ahead of PLAYCON 2025, which opened the following day at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.
In the lead-up to the conference, Della Rocca and Filletti met with local policymakers and stakeholders, including representatives from Malta Venture Capital, Malta Enterprise, and educational institutions such as the University of Malta and MCAST, among others contributing to the future of Malta’s game development ecosystem. Discussions centred on the growth of the sector, investment frameworks, and opportunities for collaboration across education and industry.
Della Rocca also delivered a masterclass hosted by the Academy of Interactive Media (AIM) titled “The Business of Video Game Development.” The session brought together multiple studios for a focused discussion on funding, pitching strategies, and the commercial realities of running a successful game studio.
Recognised globally as an entrepreneur, funding advisor, and cluster development expert, Jason Della Rocca is co-founder of Execution Labs and was named among Game Developer Magazine’s Power 50 for his contributions to the international games industry.
