Malta Labour Migration Policy Briefing for Gaming Industry Hosted by Identità and GamingMalta

Identità, in collaboration with GamingMalta, hosted a dedicated briefing focused on Malta’s Labour Migration Policy, with specific relevance to the country’s gaming industry.

The session brought together stakeholders from across iGaming, esports and video game development, creating a forum for direct exchange between policymakers and industry representatives. Attendees received a clear overview of current labour migration initiatives, alongside practical guidance on local labour market requirements, work regulations and employment legislation linked to the engagement of foreign nationals in Malta.

During the briefing, Identità introduced its newly launched Pre-Departure Course and outlined forthcoming developments related to application processes. These updates aim to provide greater clarity for employers and foreign professionals navigating Malta’s regulatory framework, particularly within a sector that continues to depend on international expertise.

The programme opened with an address by Identità Chair Marlene Mizzi, followed by keynote presentations covering policy direction, strategy, data and analytics. The event concluded with a panel discussion that prompted constructive questions and active participation from the floor.

The initiative reflects ongoing collaboration between public authorities and industry stakeholders to ensure Malta’s labour migration framework remains structured, transparent and aligned with the needs of the gaming sector. Through facilitating dialogue and sharing operational updates, GamingMalta continues to support sustainable talent development and long-term growth within Malta’s wider gaming ecosystem.
