GamingMalta is proud to support yet another strong moment for the local games industry, as over 70 people gathered together at an ODIN Malta event last week. Offering a community space for game development and other immersive technologies, the event brought video game developers, creatives, founders, and industry stakeholders together for the introduction of the Malta Game Developers Association, MGDA.
Seeing such a big number of video game creatives at the event makes a powerful statement about where the local games community is heading. The interest and energy in the room show a real need for developers to have more spaces where they can share important conversations that shape the sector.
MGDA gives local game developers a more visible place in Malta’s wider digital entertainment story, reflecting the direction of Malta Vision 2050 towards an economy built on skills, innovation and high-value sectors. Game development is a natural fit for that future, creating the kind of environment that builds a skilled and exportable industry.
