The Attard-based studio has become the first company from Malta to win the prestigious Kennerspiel des Jahres, one of the international board game industry’s highest honours, for their game Rebirth.
Designed by legendary game designer Reiner Knizia, Rebirth began as a basic paper prototype before Mighty Boards developed its distinctive world. The result is a truly global success story. Rebirth has already sold 120,000 copies across 15 languages, bringing a game shaped and produced in Malta to players around the world.
Mighty Boards’ achievement reflects the ambitions of Malta Vision 2050, supporting homegrown companies to develop intellectual property and build international partnerships, while competing successfully in global creative markets.
